Regents Estate : ウィキペディア英語版
Regent Estate

Regent Estate is a housing estate in Haggerston in the London Borough of Hackney.
The estate is also mistakenly referred to as Regents Estate, and this leads to confusion with its neighbour Regents Court Estate.
The estate is named in reference to the nearby Regent's Canal, which was commissioned by the Prince Regent who later became King George IV.
The estate is situated between Queensbridge Road, Pownall Road, Brownlow Road and Brougham Road. It is to the south east of London Fields and adjoins Broadway Market to the west.
The estate comprises council housing built in the late 1970s and early 1980s and owned or by the London Borough of Hackney. The estate is a mix of terrace houses, purpose built flats in smaller blocks, with 3 large blocks of flats on Broke Walk, Marlborough Avenue and an additional block on Brownlow Road that was included as part of the estate in 2006. As trerraced houses have been sold under the right to buy scheme, this has resulted in a mixed ownership of freeholders, long leaseholders, council tenants and Housing Association tenants.
The estate has 3 community building:
# The Regent Estate Community Centre/Hall
# The Regent Estate Pensions Club/Hall
# The Regent Estate Community Office (Which unfortunately is in a bad state of repair and being used by Hackney Homes Cleaning Services) and therefore called 'the cleaners hut'.
It has two shop spaces serving the estate and the community:
# Ozen Supermarket (42 Marlborough Avenue)
# Workshop 44 (44 Marlborough Avenue)
The Workshop 44 shop stood shuttered up for over a decade, but due to petitioning by the Tenants and Residents Association and with the help of Hackney Homes Residents Participation office, and the London Olympics Arts in Derelict Spaces funding the space was turned into a multimedia arts gallery run by Rolemop. Clear Village were then invited to perform a study for the estate and then also took over the management of the shop as Clear Villages first Small Works initiative.
As Clear Village state:
"As well as providing work spaces for entrepreneurs and organisations, Workshop 44 / Small Works Hackney serves as a focal point for the local community. From break dance to bike repairs, film screening to art exhibitions, music jams to interview coaching, it offers an action-packed programme of activities for the residents of Regent Estate."
